FUFA Women’s Cup 2026: Kawempe Muslim and Kampala Queens Set Up Blockbuster Final

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and Kampala Queens FC will face off in the final of the 7th edition of the FUFA Women’s Cup after successfully navigating their respective semi-final ties on Wednesday evening.

At Kawempe Muslim Playground, the holders produced another dominant display to defeat Amus College WFC 3-0 in the second leg and progress with a commanding 6-0 aggregate victory.

Jovia Nakagolo scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute before Samalie Nakacwa doubled the advantage in the 69th minute. Agnes Nabukenya completed the scoring in the 78th minute to seal Kawempe Muslim’s place in a second consecutive FUFA Women’s Cup final.

The triumph extends an impressive cup run for Kawempe Muslim, who are yet to concede a goal in this year’s competition. Their journey to the final began with a 1-0 victory over Uganda Martyrs WFC in the Round of 16 courtesy of Latifah Nakasi. In the quarter-finals, goals from Latifah Nakasi and Asia Nakibuuka secured a 2-0 win over Wakiso Hill WFC.

The semi-final tie against Amus College WFC saw Kawempe Muslim exact revenge for last year’s final defeat, with Latifah Nakasi netting a brace and Jovia Nakagolo adding the other goal in the first leg before Wednesday’s emphatic victory completed a 6-0 aggregate triumph.

Meanwhile, Kampala Queens FC booked their place in the FUFA Women’s Cup final for the first time after defeating Lady Doves FC 2-0 in Masindi to advance with a 4-0 aggregate score.

Joanita Ainembabazi opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before Kamyati Naigaga struck in first-half stoppage time. Notably, the duo also scored in the first leg at MTN Omondi Stadium as Kampala Queens completed a professional performance over the two matches.

Kampala Queens began their campaign with a 4-1 victory over She Kasese WFC in the Round of 16. Joanita Ainembabazi got on the scoresheet, Shamusa Najjuma struck a brace and Zaituni Namaganda added the fourth goal. In the quarter-finals, Ainembabazi once again proved decisive, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over St Noa Girls FC.

The Queens head into the final having conceded only one goal throughout their cup campaign, setting up an intriguing contest against a Kawempe Muslim side that is yet to concede in the competition. Notably, neither side has previously won the FUFA Women’s Cup, guaranteeing a new name on the trophy when the two teams meet in Kadiba.

The 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup final will be played on Sunday, 21st June 2026, at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 PM.
