Kampala Queens FC win first-ever FUFA Women’s Cup title

Kampala Queens FC defeated Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC 2-0 to win the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup final at FUFA Stadium Kadiba on Sunday 21st June 2026 and secure the club’s first title in the competition.

The match was attended by FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, FUFA Second Vice President Dr Azah Taibu, FUFA Executive Committee Member Deo Mutabazi and Kitara FC Chairman Deo Kasozi.

The two sides played out a competitive opening half before Kampala Queens FC took the lead in the 38th minute. Joanitah Ainembabazi found the breakthrough to hand her side a 1-0 advantage heading into the interval.

Margaret Namirimu of She Corporate FC, winner of the 2023/24 FUFA Women’s Cup, presented the trophy to the fans during the half-time interval.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC returned strongly after the restart and created several goalscoring opportunities in pursuit of an equaliser. However, they were unable to convert their chances as a number of efforts went narrowly over the crossbar.

Kampala Queens FC sealed victory in the first minute of added time when Kamiyat Naigaga finished off a solo run to double the advantage and confirm a 2-0 result.


The final also recognised outstanding individual performers from the competition.

Best Goalkeeper – Sharon Norah Kaidu (Kampala Queens FC)

Best Defender – Samalie Nakacwa (Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC)

Best Midfielder – Shamusa Najjuma (Kampala Queens FC)

Top Scorer and Most Valuable Player – Joanitah Ainembabazi (Kampala Queens FC)
