Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has named a strong and competitive squad for the September-October international window, saying he is confident in the group selected for the two qualifiers against Tunisia and Libya and the two friendlies against DR Congo.
The Belgian tactician says he is pleased with the current form, fitness and commitment of the summoned players and believes they have what it takes to deliver good results for Uganda.
Put also clarified why several regulars will not be part of this window.
He confirmed that Jordan Obita and Elio Capradossi are out with injuries and wished them a speedy recovery.
Other notable absentees include captain Khalid Aucho, Salim Jamal, Uche Ikpeazu, John Paul Dembe, Rogers Bobosi Byaruhanga and Jude Ssemugabi.
According to Put, some are currently without clubs or have just completed transfers and have not had enough playing time, while others have recently returned from long injuries and are yet to regain full match rhythm, with limited minutes in recent games.
He stressed that the door remains open for all of them to return to the squad.
