The semi-finalists for the FUFA Women’s Cup 2026 were confirmed over the weekend following the conclusion of the quarter-final fixtures.
In honour of the late She Corporate FC midfielder Cissy Nantongo, a moment of silence was observed before kick-off at all quarter-final matches played over the weekend.
Holders Amus College WFC and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC claimed the final two semi-final places on Sunday.
Amus College were pushed all the way by She Maroons FC in a tightly contested encounter that ended goalless after normal time. The holders eventually triumphed 9-8 in a penalty shootout to keep their title defence on track.
The result means Amus College remain in contention to become the first club to successfully defend the FUFA Women’s Cup title. Since the competition’s inception, no team has won the trophy more than once.
At Kawempe Muslim Ground, the hosts produced a dominant display to defeat Wakiso Hill WFC 2-0. Kawempe controlled possession for long spells and played entertaining attacking football throughout the contest. Latifah Nakasi broke the deadlock before Asia Nakibuuka added the second goal to cap off an impressive performance.
The two sides joined Kampala Queens FC and Lady Doves FC, who had secured their places in the last four on Saturday.
At the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, St. Noa Girls FC enjoyed the better of the first half and created several opportunities but were unable to convert their chances.
Kampala Queens FC grew into the game after the break and found the breakthrough in the 66th minute through substitute Joanita Ainembabazi. The forward calmly looped the ball over goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya, who had moved off her line, to score the only goal of the match.
Lady Doves FC also advanced after a 1-0 victory over UCU Lady Cardinals, with Cecilia Apiding netting the decisive goal.
The semi-finals will see Kampala Queens FC face Lady Doves FC, with the first leg set to be played at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, before the return fixture at Katusabe Ground.
