The Uganda U-20 Women’s National Team, the Queen Cranes, remain in residential camp at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru as preparations intensify for the final round of the African Qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026.
The team continues to fine-tune both tactical organisation and physical fitness ahead of the crucial two-legged tie against Ghana, with focus firmly set on securing a historic qualification.
Midfielder Kasemire Imelda of St Noa Girls FC has expressed optimism within the camp, highlighting the players’ determination and the collective ambition to reach the global showpiece.

‘We are excited to be in camp again. We are doing our best to get a positive result against Ghana. We want to play at the World Cup. The coaching staff is pushing us well to achieve this target,’ said Kasemire.

She also underscored the competitive spirit within the squad and the positive influence of the technical team in driving the players towards peak performance levels.

The Queen Cranes will face Ghana in the final qualification round, with the first leg confirmed for Sunday, 3rd May 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The return leg will be played on 9th May 2026 in Kampala. The aggregate winner will secure qualification to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026 in Poland.
