The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), in partnership with the Uganda Premier League (UPL), has launched the 2026/27 Season Media Day, with KCCA FC and NEC FC becoming the first clubs to participate in the programme on Wednesday, 19th August 2026 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The UPL Media Day will run from 19th to 27th August 2026, covering all participating clubs ahead of the new season.
The programme focuses on six key areas: Competition Requirements, Laws of the Game, Integrity of Matches and Competitions, Safeguarding in Football, Marketing and Commercial Aspects, and Media. The programme will conclude with a photoshoot and the taking of players’ height and weight measurements.
FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim highlighted the importance of having all aspects of the game working together for the continued development of football.

‘The game of football is like a tuk-tuk. When one tyre is removed, it cannot move forward. Football is about governance, sport and business.’
FUFA Deputy CEO Ampaire Sheba Ronah also emphasised the stature and responsibility that comes with representing a club such as KCCA FC.

‘KCCA FC is a big brand. And this is both a privilege and a responsibility.’
The UPL team, led by Chief Executive Officer Bainamani Bernard Bampaire, expressed its enthusiasm for the engagements as preparations for the 2026/27 campaign continue.

‘We are excited for this day as the league. What is important is what is contained in the engagement.’
The initiative provides an opportunity for clubs to align with the requirements and expectations ahead of the new season while strengthening coordination between FUFA, UPL and the clubs.
