FUFA Women’s Cup 2026: Quarter-Finals Promise Exciting Encounters as Kampala Queens FC and St Noa Girls FC Renew Rivalry

The journey to FUFA Women’s Cup glory enters a decisive phase this weekend as eight teams battle for four places in the semi-finals of the 2026 edition.

With the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League season concluded, attention now shifts entirely to the knockout competition, where ambitions of silverware remain alive for clubs that enjoyed contrasting league campaigns.

Action begins on Saturday with two intriguing quarter-final fixtures.

At MTN Omondi Stadium, Kampala Queens FC host St. Noa Girls FC in a fixture that revisits last season’s quarter-final clash. On that occasion, St. Noa Girls edged Kampala Queens 3-2 in an entertaining contest to progress to the semi-finals.

For Kampala Queens, the FUFA Women’s Cup represents an opportunity to end the season with silverware after missing out on the league title. The Queens will be eager to avoid a repeat of last year’s defeat and keep their hopes of a trophy alive. However, they will have to navigate the contest without forward Catherine Nagadya, who is suspended following a straight red card received against She Kasese in the previous round.

St. Noa Girls, meanwhile, head into the tie looking to build on an impressive league debut season and secure a place in the semi-finals.

They will, however, be without forward Marion Serenge, who is away on national duty with Kenya’s Harambee Starlets. Her absence will deny the visitors one of their best attacking options as they seek to book a place in the semi-finals.

The second fixture of the day sees Lady Doves FC host UCU Lady Cardinals at Katusabe Ground in Masindi.

Both sides have enjoyed competitive campaigns and will view the quarter-final as a realistic opportunity to move one step closer to silverware. Lady Doves will be looking to make home advantage count, while UCU Lady Cardinals will be hoping to draw on their experience in knockout football. With little separating the two teams, the tie is expected to be closely contested.

On Sunday, two more semi-final slots will be up for grabs.

At Jeph International Ground, She Maroons FC entertain reigning holders Amus College WFC.

The defending winners remain on course to retain the trophy and will be determined to continue their title defence. However, She Maroons have shown throughout the season that they are capable of competing against the country’s top teams and will relish the opportunity to test themselves against the holders with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

Meanwhile, Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC host Wakiso Hill WFC at Kawempe Muslim SS Ground.

Fresh from securing the league title, Kawempe Muslim enter the contest with momentum and the prospect of completing a domestic double. Having been the most consistent side in the league this season, they will be confident of extending their impressive run in pursuit of another trophy.

Wakiso Hill, however, have already demonstrated their giant-killing credentials after eliminating She Corporate FC in the previous round. The underdogs will take confidence from that result as they seek to cause another upset and deny Kawempe Muslim a place in the last four.

Unlike the previous round, where matches tied after normal time were decided by penalties, the quarter-finals will include extra time. If the scores remain level after the additional 30 minutes, the winner will be determined by a penalty shootout.
