The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is conducting three specialised youth coaching courses under the FUFA Technical Master Plan in conjunction with the FIFA Talent Development Scheme. The courses started on the 2nd June 2026 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, and will end on 7th June 2026.
A total of 68 participants are attending the courses, which are designed to strengthen technical capacity within football academies and youth football structures across the country.
The Youth Coaching Course has attracted 35 participants, while the Youth Conditioning Course has 20 participants. The Youth Goalkeeping Coaching Course has registered 13 participants.
Of the 68 participants, 64 are male and four are female.
The courses are being facilitated by experienced instructors. Bashir Mutyaba and Ben Mwesigwa are leading the Youth Coaching Course, Félix Ayobo is conducting the Youth Conditioning Course, while Ibrahim Mugisha is instructing the Youth Goalkeeping Coaching Course.
The training forms part of FUFA’s commitment to implementing the FUFA Technical Master Plan and enhancing the quality of youth football development in Uganda.
FUFA requires all registered football academies to deploy at least one FUFA-certified technical person in the areas of youth coaching, youth goalkeeping coaching and youth conditioning coaching. The requirement applies to academies participating in FUFA youth competitions including the FUFA Juniors’ League, FUFA Schools of Excellence and the FUFA Academies League.
Only coaches who have completed the relevant training and certification are permitted to conduct training sessions and handle teams in these competitions.
The specialised courses are conducted on a 40-hour full-time residential basis and are intended to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to support the development of young footballers in line with national and international standards.
