The FUFA Grade 4 Talent Identification Workforce Education Workshop is underway at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru from 22nd to 25th June 2026.
The workshop brings together participants from across the country as FUFA continues to strengthen its structured talent identification and scouting system under the FUFA Talent Identification Framework supported by FIFA through the FIFA Talent Development Scheme.
The FUFA Grade 4 (G4) Scouting Workshop is the entry-level qualification in FUFA’s scouting pathway. It is designed to train scouts capable of identifying, assessing, and reporting talented young footballers across Uganda with a focus on structured development at grassroots level.

The programme targets coaches, former players, teachers, football administrators, and other football stakeholders with an interest in talent identification. FUFA’s long-term objective is to ensure that every district in Uganda has at least one qualified Grade 4 scout to support early talent identification and integration into the national football development pathway.
Training during the workshop combines classroom instruction, practical field scouting sessions, video analysis, scouting exercises, and guided training on the FUFA Talent ID online platform for player profiling and reporting.
Participants are equipped with skills in principles of talent identification, player observation and assessment, match reporting, live scouting during matches, video scouting techniques, and use of the FUFA Talent ID database and reporting system.
Successful participants are certified as FUFA Grade 4 Scouts and are expected to operate within FUFA-organised and authorised competitions while submitting structured reports through the official Talent ID platform.

The workshop is facilitated by FUFA Football Development Director Bashir Mutyaba, FUFA Education Manager Jackson Nyiima, TMP Manager Brian Omony, FUFA Talent Identification Officer Jerome Katende, and FUFA Curriculum Development Officer Ben Mwesigwa.
They are supported by FUFA Education Assistant Peter Emojong and Acting Elite Football Development Officer Baker Lukooya.
