The seventh edition of the FUFA Women’s Cup gets underway this Sunday, 19 April 2026, with a host of exciting round of 32 fixtures lined up across the country.
With the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title race intensifying, and fans continuing to enjoy the performances of Uganda’s women’s national youth teams, attention now turns to knockout action as clubs battle for domestic cup glory.
A total of 32 teams will take part in this preliminary round, drawn from the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, the FUFA Women Elite League, the regional leagues, and one non-league side. Regional and selected FUFA Women Elite League teams have been granted home advantage, while FUFA Women Super League sides and top Elite League teams will play away from home.
All ties at this stage will be played as one-legged encounters, with any drawn matches decided directly by kicks from the penalty mark. Kick-off for all fixtures is at 3:00 pm.
Several fixtures promise thrilling contests. In Sheema, Sheema Girls FC will host UPDF WFC at Sheema Playground, while Kangulumira Public face She Maroons FC at Kangulumira CU. Uganda Martyrs High School Junior Team will take on Rines SS WFC at St Gerald’s Ground, as Lamancia Women FC host Tooro Queens FC in Jinja at Cross Lake View.
In Eastern Uganda, Lady Eagles FC welcome URA Ladies WFC in Kumi at Mukongoro Township, while Mbale City Stadium will host the clash between Highway Ladies WFC and PISBGC Queens FC. Buhimba Lady Saints will face Makerere University WFC at Kigaaya Primary School Ground, and Police WFC will take on Pabo United WFC at Jeph International University in Luzira.
Elsewhere, Nansana Women FC will host BUL WFC at Alliance High School in Nansana, while Shammah Queens FC take on Jinja United WFC at Busubizi PTC in Mityana. In Kawempe, Dream Girls FC will battle Asubo Ladies FC at Sokolo, as Ateker WFC host Lira City Queens at Soroti Sports Ground.
In the other fixtures, Kick It Women FC will host UCU Lady Cardinals at St Pius SS Kiziba, while Buddo Christian WFC face Boni Consili Girls FC at Nsagu Ground in Kasenge. Buheesi Valley WFC will take on Olila High School WFC at Buheesi Valley Park, while Watoto Ladies FC host She Kasese WFC along Mityana Road in Biira.
The winners from this round will progress to round two as the race for the FUFA Women’s Cup title gathers momentum.
