He started by indicating that the current term will come to an end in August this year and thereafter confirmed his intention to seek for a third stint.

‘FUFA elections have begun and my term as the President of the Federation comes to an end on the 31st of August 2021. I am going to stand for another term.  I told you when the right moment comes, I will announce and this is the time to declare,’ he revealed.

Having assumed power in 2013, the incumbent President believes he has the experience and ideas to take the game to another level given the added benefit of being a Member of Parliament.

Magogo was elected MP for Budiope East in January to the 11th Parliament.

‘I believe we have the ideas and experience. Going to Parliament helps football because there are certain things that we can only get in Parliament. We have done our first and second phase and now we want to go the third phase which is going to the 2026 FIFA World Cup’ said Magogo.

The President stated that football should be safeguarded amidst the political tensions and promised a free and fair election process.

‘There are going to be very many political emotions, let us be aware of them and remain careful that football must continue to exist. Anybody who uses the politics to solve or to undermine football on the pitch, we shall stand up to them. There is a habit of politicians wanting to attract football into the politics. We shall come up and apply the rules and regulations irrespective of your political ambitions. We will organize free and fair elections and ensure that the rules are followed as they are.’

He emphasized that the existing procedures will be followed to make sure the process is smooth and devoid of blemish right from the District to National level.

‘There is a process. There are procedures and these have been in existence for the last ten years. Let us follow the rules and condemn those who do nor follow them. The process has already started, from the Districts to Regional and then National level. If you think you want to become FUFA President, come and stand, add value, do not distort what has been achieved.  Nobody is going to be victimised for intentions to stand’ He stated.

Under the reign of Mr. Magogo as President, FUFA has registered several success stories in different areas such as Governance, football development, equipment & infrastructure, National & Representative teams, Competitions, Marketing & Communications, Finance & Administration plus Membership.
