The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially opened the second window for the online registration and licensing of football academies, further reinforcing its commitment to streamlining and strengthening youth football structures across the country.
The registration window, which runs from 1st to 31st July 2026, presents a vital opportunity for academies to align with FUFA’s regulatory framework and formalize their operations within Uganda’s football ecosystem. This initiative is part of FUFA’s broader vision to build a structured, credible and sustainable foundation for grassroots football development.

As part of its continued drive towards modernization, FUFA has embraced a fully digital application process. All academy registration and licensing procedures are conducted online, a move aimed at improving efficiency, accessibility and transparency for stakeholders involved in youth football. Academies are therefore required to complete the online application forms and submit all the necessary supporting documentation within the stipulated timeframe.
All academies must comply with the set requirements. These include submission of a duly completed online application form, proof of payment of the application fee as guided by Statutory Instrument No. 24 of 2025, a valid membership certificate from the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA), and a comprehensive register of players attached to the academy. FUFA has emphasized that failure to meet any of these requirements may affect the outcome of the application.
Following the application phase, FUFA will carry out inspections to verify compliance with the set standards. The inspection exercise will take place from 1st to 14th August 2026, during which academies will be assessed to ensure they meet the required operational and developmental benchmarks.
Academies that successfully fulfill all requirements and pass the inspection process will be recommended to the National Council of Sports (NCS) for licensing, in line with the National Sports regulations. This step is crucial in ensuring that all football academies operate within the legal and structural framework governing sports in Uganda.
Through this process, FUFA aims to enhance player development pathways, safeguard the welfare of young athletes and elevate the overall standards of grassroots football in the country. The federation calls upon all academy operators to take full advantage of this window and ensure full compliance with national football regulations.
