FUFA opens applications for specialised Youth Coaching Courses

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has opened applications for three specialised Youth Coaching Courses as part of efforts to strengthen technical development within youth football structures across the country.

The courses target coaches and technical personnel working in academies and youth football and form part of the implementation of the FUFA Technical Master Plan.

Under the current requirements, all FUFA-registered football academies are expected to deploy at least one FUFA Certified Technical Person in Youth Coaching, Youth Goalkeeping Coaching or Youth Conditioning Coaching.

Only certified personnel will be allowed to conduct training sessions and handle competitions in the FUFA Schools of Excellence, the FUFA Juniors’ League and the FUFA Academies League.

The pre-selection process has now commenced and will identify suitable candidates for the three residential courses which will each run for 40 hours.

The Youth Coaching Course will take place from 2nd to 6th June 2026 while the Youth Goalkeeping Coaching Course is scheduled for 8th to 12th June 2026. The Youth Conditioning Coaching Course will conclude the programme from 15th to 19th June 2026.

Applicants will pay a non-refundable application fee of UGX 100,000 and successful candidates will thereafter pay a course fee of UGX 500,000 for each programme.

FUFA has set minimum qualification standards for each course. Applicants for the Youth Coaching Course must possess a CAF C Coaching Diploma, a Diploma or equivalent academic qualification and at least three years of experience in a youth football set-up.
