FUFA Grade 4 Talent Identification Course concludes at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru

The FUFA Grade 4 Talent Identification Course concluded on Thursday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, with participants successfully completing the entry-level programme under the FUFA Talent Identification Framework.

The four-day course that ended on 25th June 2026 brought together participants from across Uganda as FUFA continued to strengthen its structured talent identification and scouting system. The programme is supported by FIFA through the FUFA Talent Development Scheme.

Throughout the course, participants undertook classroom sessions, practical field scouting exercises, video analysis and training on the FUFA Talent Identification online platform for player profiling and reporting.

Upon successful completion, the participants were awarded certificates and certified as FUFA Grade 4 Scouts. They are expected to operate within FUFA-organised and authorised competitions while submitting structured scouting reports through the official FUFA Talent Identification database and reporting system.

The closing ceremony was officiated by the Chairman of the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA), Robert Kiwanuka, who congratulated the participants upon completing the course.

‘I congratulate you upon the successful completion of this workshop. I recognise your commitment, discipline and sacrifice, especially those who travelled long distances to be here. I also thank the facilitators for the time and effort they dedicated to ensuring the success of this course.

‘Today marks an important milestone in your journey. You have not only completed the course but have also begun the journey of becoming guardians of the future of football talent in Uganda. Great footballing nations are built on effective talent identification,’ said Kiwanuka.

The course was facilitated by FUFA Football Development Director Bashir Mutyaba, Football Education Manager Jackson Nyiima, TMP Manager Brian Omony, Talent Identification Officer Jerome Katende and Curriculum Development Officer Ben Mwesigwa.

They were supported by Education Assistant Peter Emojong and Acting Elite Football Development Officer Baker Lukooya.
