FIFA U-20 WWCQ: Natooro Desire Katisi excited to join Queen Cranes ahead of Ghana double-header

The Uganda U-20 Women’s National Team, the Queen Cranes, remain in residential camp at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, as preparations continue for the final round of the African Qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026.

The team is undertaking intensive tactical, technical and physical training sessions, with full focus now directed towards the decisive two-legged tie against Ghana. A place at the global showpiece in Poland is at stake.

Kenya Police Bullets FC defender Natooro Desire Katisi has joined the Queen Cranes camp and participated in training, providing an important boost to the team’s defensive options ahead of the crucial fixtures.

Katisi expressed her excitement after linking up with the squad and shared confidence in the team’s readiness.

‘I feel excited to link up with the team for the final hurdle. I already feel we are in the right shape to face Ghana. Everyone’s aim here is to qualify for the World Cup. We also call upon the fans to continue backing us,’ she said.

Her arrival adds valuable depth and experience as the team intensifies preparations in pursuit of a historic qualification.

The Queen Cranes will face Ghana in the final qualification round, with the first leg scheduled for 3rd May 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium, before the return leg on 9th May 2026 in Kampala. The aggregate winner will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026 in Poland.
