Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League 2026/2027 fixtures released, double headers introduced

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has released the first-round fixtures for the 2026/2027 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) season following the successful completion of the club licensing process.

The new season will kick off on Saturday, 19th September 2026, with reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC hosting newly promoted Jinja United WFC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende at 4:00 PM.

The opening day will also mark the introduction of season double headers, with FWSL matches scheduled alongside Uganda Premier League (UPL) fixtures at selected venues.

On the same day, Vipers SC will host Ntugasaze FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende at 8:00 PM, making the Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC versus Jinja United WFC fixture the first FWSL match to form part of a season double header.

FUFA Competitions Director Shawn Mubiru explained that seven double headers will be staged during the first round at three venues.

‘This season we have introduced season double headers where a stadium will host an FWSL match and the UPL game on the same day. We shall have seven double headers in the first round, hosted at three stadiums: St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, Hamz Stadium-Nakivubo and MTN Omondi Stadium,’ Mubiru said.

He explained that the initiative is linked to the UPL club licensing requirements, which require clubs to either own a women’s team or partner with an existing women’s team.

‘This will give an opportunity for female matches to be played across different parts of the country, use good infrastructure, play in front of UPL fans and promote the women’s game while also getting a new fan base,’ he added.

Following stakeholder engagement between FUFA and its member clubs, FWSL matches will now kick off at 4:00 PM across the country. The change was approved by the FUFA Executive Committee.

The remaining five fixtures on the opening weekend will be played on Sunday, 20th September 2026, all kicking off at 4:00 PM.

URA Ladies FC will host KCCA Women FC at Hamz Stadium-Nakivubo, while Makerere University WFC will face Amus College WFC at Nsibirwa Play Ground.

Lady Doves FC will take on Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC at Katusabe Dove Play Ground, Rines SS WFC will host She Maroons FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, while She-Corporate FC will welcome St. Noa Girls-Zana FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The 2026/2027 campaign features 12 teams competing for the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title.
