Matchday 15 of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League delivered early drama as defending champions Kampala Queens WFC suffered their third defeat of the season after St Noa Girls FC handed them a 1-0 loss, while Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC settled for a 1-1 draw against Rines SS WFC. Meanwhile, Olila H/S WFC and Asubo Ladies FC are still searching for their maiden wins of the season.
St Noa Girls FC produced a statement performance to hand Kampala Queens WFC their third defeat, securing a 1-0 victory at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The visitors started brightly, controlling possession through midfielders Patricia Nayiga and Brenda Nassaka, whose composure on the ball allowed St Noa to dictate the tempo in midfield and disrupt Kampala Queens’ usual buildup play.

Despite enjoying large spells of possession in the first half, St Noa struggled to translate their dominance into clear-cut opportunities. Kampala Queens maintained a compact defensive structure that limited space in dangerous areas, ensuring the contest remained goalless at halftime.
Kampala Queens returned from the break looking more purposeful and pushed higher up the pitch in search of a breakthrough. However, their attacking play lacked sharpness in the final third. The defending champions struggled to create enough clear chances and when opportunities presented themselves, they were not clinical in front of goal. Their build-up play often slowed in advanced areas, allowing St Noa’s defence to regroup and close down spaces.
At the half-hour mark, St Noa started showing glimpses of breaking the deadlock with Marion Serenge and Dorcus Lwalisa leading the attacking charge and stretching the Queens’ defensive line with intelligent movement.
The breakthrough eventually arrived in the 75th minute when Marion Serenge capitalized on space outside the penalty area and unleashed a powerful strike from distance, beating the goalkeeper and securing all three points for St Noa Girls FC. The goal also marked Serenge’s third in four appearances in the second round, highlighting her growing influence in the league.

Speaking after the match, Serenge credited the victory to teamwork and determination.
‘I feel happy to contribute today. It was a tough game, but it’s great to go back with three points against the defending champions,’ she said.
The result highlights a significant setback for Kampala Queens WFC’s title ambitions as the league enters a decisive stage of the campaign.
Elsewhere, Rines SS WFC and Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium. Gloria Namugerwa opened the scoring for Uganda Martyrs in the 15th minute, but Kayesu Yusta’s 56th-minute strike earned Rines SS a deserved equalizer. Yusta’s performance earned her the Player of the Match award as she helped her side secure a valuable point.

Olila H/S WFC and Asubo Ladies FC remain in search of their first victories of the season after the two sides played out a goalless draw at Olila Ground in Soroti.

Matchday 15 concludes tomorrow with three fixtures. The spotlight will be at Kawempe Muslim SS Ground where Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC host She Corporate FC. Lady Doves FC will face Amus College WFC in Masindi, while Makerere University WFC host She Maroons FC at the Makerere University playground.
