We mourn the loss of Mr. Raphael Ouma Bwire.
He leaves behind a legacy in two pillars of Ugandan society-education and football. He built people in the classroom and he helped to build the game on and off the pitch.
A teacher, a Cranes player and a league administrator.
Bwire served Uganda for decades in the classroom as teacher and Deputy Headmaster and later Headmaster in various schools-prominently at Old Kampala SS. On the pitch he represented Nsambya FC and Uganda Cranes.
In the boardroom, he served as Secretary of the National Football League Committee. He also served as Chairman of the National Schools Copa Coca-Cola football Championship.
Through service, discipline and love for young people, he shaped both institutions and individuals.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
