FUFA releases U-17 Cubs Squad

1st leg African U-17 Qualifiers:

Seychelles Vs Uganda

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has today released the names for the National U-17 football team- The Cubs.

The squad named comprises of excelling youngsters various National youth football championships.  It has 3 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 7 midfielders and 6 strikers.

The squad also has a 14 year old Primary Seven player, Ezra Bida of Teremuga Primary School. Bida was the  MVP West Nile Region-during the Airtel Rising stars season 4.

‘He is fast, strong in all aspects, dynamic and very talented’ aid Head coach Matia Lule before the team left or Njeru yesterday.

Lule will have Peter Onen as his 1st assistant, Morley Byekwaso-2nd assistant while James Magala is the goal keepers’ coach.

The 21 have already entered residential training at Njeru Technical center.

‘We have taken the boys to Njeru so that they acclimatize to the artificial turf conditions, similar to those in Seychelles’ said FUFA Technical director Asuman Lubowa,

The squad will be trimmed to 18, who will travel two days before the match.

The winner will play Rwanda in the next stage.

The U-17 Championship final will take place in Niger next year.
