Acholi Province 2-1 Buganda
Acholi Province needed to stage a comeback to overcome Buganda as the two teams faced off in the first leg of the quarterfinals of this year’s FUFA Drum tournament.

Despite conceding in the opening stanza, The Elephants kept the resolve and produced a remarkable second half display to win 2-1.

Two quick fire goals from Norman Ogik and Francis Onekalit in the 64th and 65th minute respectively handed hosts, Acholi Province, the first leg advantage in a Quarter Final match held at Boma Grounds, Kitgum on Sunday.

The game was watched by several dignitaries including FUFA President, Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim.


Frank Ssebufu scored the opener in the 23rd minute that gave Buganda Province the advantage in the first half.

However, Ogik and Onekalit came off the bench to hand victory to the reigning Champions thus sending the fans into wild celebrations at full time.

Acholi Province’s Fred Agandu was named the Nile Special Man of the Match.

Buganda Province will host Acholi Province at Nakisunga Grounds, Mukono in the second leg of the tie on a date to be communicated.
