Prosper SA, St. Mary’s Kitende SA set for inaugural FUFA Academies League final

Prosper Soccer Academy and St. Mary’s Kitende SA will meet in the FUFA Academies League 2026 final at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on Sunday 11th October 2026 at 3pm.

The final brings together the winners of the Kampala Region and Buganda Region groups, with both sides finishing top of their respective groups after 18 matches.

Prosper Soccer Academy

Prosper finished top of the Kampala Region group with 53 points from 18 matches.

They recorded 15 wins, two draws and two defeats, scoring 41 goals and conceding 10 for a goal difference of +32. Their 53 points gave them a six-point advantage over second-placed KS.Sparta 09 Soccer Academy.

Prosper’s attacking record was the best in their group, while their 10 goals conceded was also the lowest. They averaged 2.28 goals scored per match and conceded 0.56 goals per match.

Their points tally also included the competition’s special scoring system, where a team winning by a difference of two goals is awarded four points.

St. Mary’s Kitende SA

St. Mary’s Kitende SA topped the Buganda Region group with 57 points from 18 matches.

They registered 14 wins, three draws and one defeat, scoring 64 goals and conceding 17. Their goal difference of +47 was the best among the two finalists and they finished 10 points clear of Rays Of Grace Academy and El-Cambio Academy, who both collected 47 points.

Kitende were the most prolific team across the two groups, scoring 64 goals at an average of 3.56 per match. They conceded 17 goals, averaging 0.94 per match.

Their 57 points also represent the highest tally achieved by either group winner.

The numbers behind the final

Across their 18 group matches, Prosper scored 41 goals while Kitende scored 64, giving the Buganda group winners a 23-goal advantage.

Prosper conceded 10 goals compared to Kitende’s 17, meaning Prosper had the tighter defence by seven goals.

The two finalists therefore enter the final with contrasting records: Kitende have the stronger attack and higher points tally, while Prosper have conceded fewer goals.

The scoring charts also feature a St. Mary’s Kitende player prominently. Katerega John Mary has scored 17 goals, the second-highest individual tally in the competition behind El-Cambio Academy’s Kasumba Angello, who leads with 23 goals.
