Matchday 19 of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League delivered a major twist in the title race, as Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC suffered a setback while She Corporate FC capitalised to move to the summit.
With just three matches remaining, the battle for the title has taken a decisive turn, with She Corporate now holding the advantage in what remains a tightly contested race.
She Corporate FC set the pace on Saturday with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Olila High School WFC. Maureen Nakinga struck in the 75th minute to secure maximum points in a closely contested encounter.
Olila threatened for long spells, but She Corporate goalkeeper Molly Naava Nabitaka delivered a composed performance, making crucial saves to preserve the lead and secure a vital clean sheet.
That result left Kawempe Muslim Ladies needing victory in their Sunday fixture against Makerere University WFC to retain top spot. However, a resilient and well-organised Makerere side frustrated the visitors to claim a narrow 1-0 win at Nsibirwa Grounds.

Despite dominating possession and creating several clear-cut chances, Kawempe failed to convert their opportunities. Makerere remained disciplined and struck decisively through Halima Kampi, a former Kawempe player, whose first-half goal proved decisive.
The result marked Kawempe’s second defeat of the season and confirmed Makerere University’s dominance in the fixture, having completed a league double following their earlier 2-0 victory in the reverse encounter.
Kawempe head coach Ayub Khalifa admitted his side fell short in key moments.
‘We played a good game but were unable to convert our chances. We need to improve our finishing. We still believe, and with three games to go, we will give our best while keeping an eye on She Corporate,’ he said.
Makerere University head coach Fred Ndawula praised his team’s discipline and determination.
‘They defended well and limited the chances towards our goal. Our target is to finish in the top five, and the players worked hard to secure this win,’ he noted.
The results see She Corporate move top of the table with 47 points, two ahead of Kawempe Muslim, setting up a thrilling run-in to the season.
Elsewhere, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC registered a 3-0 victory over Asubo Ladies FC at St Gerald’s Ground, with Sharon Kanyiginya, Shallon Naboowa, and Auki Angel on target. Kanyiginya was named Player of the Match following her standout performance.
Amus College WFC secured a 2-0 win over Kampala Queens FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, courtesy of a brace from Nambozo Zabinah, as Kampala Queens’ inconsistent run continued.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Rines SS WFC and Lady Doves FC played out a goalless draw in a closely contested encounter.
As the league heads into its final three matchdays, the title race remains finely poised. Kawempe Muslim will aim to respond in their upcoming fixtures against Rines SS WFC, Kampala Queens FC, and Olila High School WFC. She Corporate FC, now in pole position, will face St. Noa Girls WFC at home before trips to Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and a final-day clash against She Maroons FC.
