Matchday 17 of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League produced 17 goals across six fixtures, highlighting the attacking intent and competitive edge as the league enters its decisive phase with five matches remaining. Title contenders She Corporate FC and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC both registered important victories to maintain momentum at the top.
St Noa Girls FC registered the most emphatic result of the day with a commanding 4-0 victory over Asubo Ladies FC at Mutessa II Stadium. Marion Serenge inspired the win with a superb hat-trick. She opened the scoring in the 19th minute and added her second in the 30th before completing her treble in the second half. Imelda Kasemire sealed the victory with a late goal.

St Noa controlled the match from start to finish. They dictated possession, created numerous chances and remained solid defensively. Their organised backline and quick transitions ensured a clean sheet and highlighted their strong second round form. Serenge’s outstanding display earned her Player of the Match honours and took her tally to six goals in five appearances in this phase.
‘I feel happy to score my first hat-trick of the league. I am enjoying my time in the league and we want to keep performing well,’ Serenge said.

At MTN Omondi Stadium, Kampala Queens FC were held to a 1-1 draw by She Maroons FC in a tightly contested encounter. Peace Muduwa gave the hosts an early lead in the 7th minute. Norah Alupo levelled matters in the 42nd minute after capitalising on a rebound when goalkeeper Sharon Kaidu failed to deal with a free kick.

Kampala Queens controlled possession in the second half but struggled to break down a disciplined She Maroons defence. They settled for a point in a result that dents their title ambitions. Assistant coach Shafic Mutebi admitted the setback.
‘It is clear the title is not in our hands. It is disappointing not to win at home. We are far away from the title,’ he said.
She Maroons head coach Maxwell Okello praised his team’s resilience.
‘It is a fair result. Our away record was not good but the players did well to get a point,’ he noted.
In Soroti, Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC secured a 3-1 victory over Olila H/S WFC at Olila Ground to return to winning ways. Maureen Kizza scored a brace and was named Woman of the Match, while Auki Kigongo added a third goal from the penalty spot. Aluka Grace scored the consolation for the hosts.
At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, She Corporate FC came from two goals down to defeat Rines SS WFC 3-2 in a match defined by resilience and attacking intent. Rines made a strong start and took a 2-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes through Sophia Nakiyingi and Patricia Nakato, placing the visitors under early pressure.
However, the Sharks responded with purpose and gradually grew into the contest. Jesca Namanda reduced the deficit in the 42nd minute before striking again in first-half stoppage time to level matters at 2-2 heading into the break.
The second half was more balanced, but She Corporate carried the greater attacking threat. Their persistence paid off in the 71st minute when Rebecca Nakato found the back of the net to complete the comeback and secure all three points. Jesca Namanda’s outstanding display earned her the Woman of the Match accolade.
At Kawempe Muslim SS Ground, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC edged Lady Doves FC 1-0 in a closely contested encounter. The first half was cagey, with limited clear-cut chances as both sides remained compact and disciplined.
The hosts returned after the break with greater urgency and found the breakthrough in the 50th minute when Latifah Nakasi converted from close range after connecting with a cross from Jovia Nakogolo. Despite not being at their fluent best, Kawempe managed the game effectively thereafter and showed composure to protect their lead.
The result underlined Kawempe’s ability to grind out results in different match situations, a quality that continues to prove decisive in the title race.
Speaking after the match, head coach Ayub Khalifa acknowledged the challenge of the fixture. ‘The games we are playing are really hard. There is too much pressure, but our players remained focused and we managed to get the three points,’ he said.
