FTBFWSL Matchday 14: She Corporate go top, Uganda Martyrs and Amus College register wins

Matchday 14 of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League concluded on Sunday with four fixtures played across different venues. A total of 15 goals were scored across six matches over the weekend as the race at the top of the table continued to intensify.

At the FUFA Technical Centre, She Corporate FC moved to the top of the table after edging Lady Doves FC 1–0 in a closely contested encounter.

Nakate Cissy struck a dramatic late winner to secure maximum points for the Sharks in a match defined by tactical discipline and defensive organisation.

Despite knowing that victory would move them two points clear of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, She Corporate struggled to impose themselves early on as Lady Doves controlled much of the possession and appeared the more purposeful side in attack.

The Believers built their play patiently through midfield and pushed numbers forward in search of the opener. Their best opportunity of the first half fell to Resty Kobusoboozi whose powerful effort rattled the crossbar in what remained the clearest chance before the break.

She Corporate found it difficult to create clear opportunities in the final third and spent long spells without the ball while relying on occasional transitions. Lady Doves maintained their attacking intent after the restart but lacked the cutting edge required to convert their dominance into goals.

The decisive moment arrived five minutes to stoppage time when Sandra Kisakye delivered a corner that Lady Doves failed to clear convincingly. Nakate Cissy reacted quickest to the loose ball and fired home from close range to seal the winner and spark celebrations among the home supporters.

She Corporate head coach Belyse Ininahazwe will take encouragement from his side’s defensive resilience after registering three consecutive clean sheets. However the team may reflect on their attacking output after relying on a late set-piece situation for the second successive match to secure victory.

Elsewhere, Uganda Martyrs High School WFC returned to winning ways with a 3–1 victory over Makerere University WFC at St Gerald’s Ground.

Nabowa Shallon, Hildah Nakirijja and Angel Auki, who converted from the penalty spot, scored for the hosts while Namiiro Noelline netted the consolation for Makerere University. Gloria Namugerwa was named Woman of the Match.

At Kampala Quality Ground, Amus College WFC delivered one of the most dominant performances of the round with a 5–0 victory over Asubo Ladies FC.

Shafiga Tamisi opened the scoring as early as the second minute and later earned the Woman of the Match accolade. Anitah Babirye doubled the lead before Aujat Doreen struck twice in quick succession. Charity Katusiime completed the emphatic victory late in the match.

Meanwhile at Mutessa II Stadium, St Noa Girls FC and Rines SS WFC shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw.

Eva Nagayi gave Rines SS the lead before Marion Serenge equalised for St Noa Girls. Nanyanzi Patricia Nakato was named Woman of the Match.
