The Round of 16 draw for the Stanbic Uganda Cup was conducted this morning, producing several intriguing matchups as the competition moves closer to the quarter-final stage.
The draw was broadcast live on FUFA Tv starting at 10AM and was conducted by former Express FC captain Fred ‘Gaso’ Mukasa. Mukasa captained Express FC to the 1985 Uganda Cup title. His presence added historical significance to the ceremony as the remaining teams learned their opponents for the next phase of the competition.
Defending winners Vipers SC, who defeated KCCA FC in last year’s final, have been drawn against FUFA Big League side Iganga United FC as they continue their title defence in the Round of 16.
One of the standout fixtures will see SC Villa face Maroons FC, while KCCA FC will take on Onduparaka FC.
Elsewhere, Express FC have been paired with Red Devo FC and Kitara FC will meet Bunyaruguru United FC. NEC FC will face the winner between Lugazi FC and Police FC whose Round of 32 fixture is yet to be decided.
Two lower division sides will also clash when Happy Boys FC Kagaba take on Six O’Clock FC, guaranteeing at least one team from outside the top tiers a place in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile URA FC will face Tapo United FC.
The Round of 16 matches will be played between 16th and 18th March 2026.
