FUFA Corporate Social Responsibility activity attached to Stanbic Uganda Cup officially launched

Over the years,  the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA)  has had several community based activities or events as a way of giving back to the general public through the beautiful game.
And now for the third year running, FUFA will have a Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) activity prior to the 2018 Stanbic Uganda Cup final in Kumi.
This year’s CSR activity was officially launched on Thursday during the FUFA Weekly press briefing at FUFA House in Mengo.
FUFA Events Manager , Leilah Nankya stated that as a Corporate Body, the Federation puts emphasis in transforming and making positive change amongst communities.
‘Football is a unifying game that brings together people from different walks of life.  As FUFA, we believe through such activities we can help the less privileged and transform communities in which we live’ sated Nankya
Nankya urged football lovers and the public to donate clothes which will in turn be given out to St Paul’s Church in Kumi before the final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
‘We therefore call upon the general public to come out like they have always done on the previous occasions and donate clothes that will be given out to the people of Kumi’ added Nankya
With this year’s final slated to be hosted in Kumi District in May, FUFA has partnered with St. Paul’s Church Kumi which will identify the needy people who will be given the clothings.

FUFA house in Mengo and selected Stanbic Bank branches will be the centres of collection of the clothes.
This is the third time that FUFA is carrying out the CSR activity attached to the annual knockout tournament.

The first time was at the Missionaries for the Poor Centre in Kisenyi in 2016 when Kampala region hosted the Uganda Cup final between Vipers SC and Onduparaka FC at Nakivubo stadium.
Last year,  a similar activity was carried out at Arua Children’s remand home when KCCA FC defeated Paidha Black Angels at Greenlight Stadium.
