Crested Cranes head coach George William Lutalo is optimistic his charges are ready for the forthcoming CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship.
On Saturday, the team currently in camp at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru had a practice game against Msingi Soccer Academy (Boys), losing 3-0 with all goals coming from Julius Rubayiza.
Despite the defeat, Lutalo indicates there were positives picked.
“I believe this practice game has come at the best time to give us the best preparations for CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship. I think having this has been a good test for us,” he said.
Lutalo indicated the game pointed to grey areas where the teams needs to improve.
“The game highlighted the aspects we need to improve. For instance, we have to improve our attacking line and utilize the chances created.”
The 2022 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship gets underway on Wednesday, 1st June at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru with 8 teams taking part.
Uganda is in group A alongside Rwanda, Burundi and Djibouti while Group B has Tanzania, Zanzibar, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
