Hasifah Nassuna to be honored as she chases 100 goal mark in Women’s League football

FUFA Statement issued by Deputy CEO-Football Decolas Kiiza on honoring Hasifah Nassuna

Football is about achieving milestones as a team and at individual level. We are privileged to live in an era where women football has been given an opportunity to shine hence producing quality players.

Goals play a key role in bringing fans to the stadiums.

One player who has never disappointed women football in Uganda is Hasifah Nassuna who is about to write history by becoming the first female player to score 100 League goals in the top flight football competitions organised by FUFA.

Nassuna’s journey started with Kawempe Muslim Ladies Football club in 2015 and now plays at UCU Lady Cardinals where she has netted 99 League goals already featuring for the two teams.

The official statistics from FUFA indicate she is one goal away from reaching a Century of goals.

The purpose of this communication is to inform and request all stakeholders that one minute of recognition from the players and fans in the stadium (a standing ovation) will be accorded to Nassuna when she scores her 100th League goal.

The match officials, Team Captains, players and fans are notified of this communication.

Thereafter, the game will resume to completion.

We seek for your understanding on this matter as we plan to celebrate this moment of magic for Hasifah Nassuna and Women football in Uganda.
