FUFA Primary Schools Championship (Odilo): Goals galore as second edition for boys commences

The second edition of the FUFA Primary School Championship (Odilo) for the boys kicked off on Saturday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru after two years of no action due to COVID-19.

Whereas the games began on Saturday, the opening ceremony was held on Sunday with Sammy Odong Sammy, the Assistant Commissioner of Physical Education in the Ministry of Education and Sports being the guest of honour.

Odong lauded the Federation for the efforts behind developing football right from the grassroot level.

Matchday one witnessed a plethora of goals scored with Northern Region representatives Paorihner Nursery scoring seven goals past Kitara Region representatives, Winners Academy. Kibuli Islamic representing Western Region beat Prime View Education Centre from Tororo 5-2.

Reigning Champions, Rays of Grace from Buganda were stunned by Bright View, suffering a 2-0 loss while Vision of Children from Tororo beat Kampala Region representatives 1-0 to wrap up matchday one.

Kibuli Islamic continued with their perfect start, winning 2-0 against Paorinher while Rays of Grace and Prime Education Center registered their first wins of the competition with Nansana Modern collecting the first point in a one all draw against Bright Views Primary School.

Kibuli Islamic leads group A with six points Paorihner is second having the same points with Prime View Education Centre but separated by goal difference. Winners Academy are bottom in this group with no point.


Bright View tops Group B with four points, Rays Of Grace is second with three, same as Vision for Children and Nansana Modern coming bottom of the table with one point.


Charles Torah leads the scoring chart with three goals, Emmanuel Ocen, Emmanuel Langal all from Paorihner, Lawrence Zziwa of Prime View, Khalid Faizal and Ramadham Kalifan Kuule both from Kibuli plus Akram Bin Musa of Bright View has two goals each.
