Four teams have confirmed their slots into the semifinals of this year’s FUFA Primary Schools Championship following a successful climax to the group games on Monday.
In the final group games played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, reigning Champions Rays of Grace, Kibuli Islamic, Bright View Primary School and Paorihner earned results good enough to send them to the next stage.
Kibuli Islamic from Western Uganda drew 2-2 against drop the first Winners Academy to finish top of group B with 7 points.
Ramathan Kalifan and Khalid Fazil scored a goal each for Kibuli Islamic while Herbert Busingye and Sunday Joyhum scored for Winners Primary School who ended the tournament with one point.
In the same group, Paorihner came from a goal down to win 3-1 against Prime View Education Centre thus finishing second.
Jospeh Langol gave Prime View the lead but Kiirya Onyango scored a brace while the other goal came from Emmy Nabongo to send Paorihner to the semifinals.
Lawrence Zziwa who leads the scoring chart with four goals netted a brace before Zakaria Akol added the other goal for the Tororo based school.
Holders Rays of Grace confirmed their place in the semifinals in style, outwitting Nansana Modern 3-0.
Goals for Rays of Grace who ended group action in second place with six points were scored by Collin Talemwa, Amos Molo and Hakim Osma.
West Nile representatives Bright View Primary School defeated Vision for Children Junior School 3-0 to finish top of Group B with seven points.
Saviour Alema scored twice and Hafizu Andabati added the other.
The results mean Group A leaders Kibuli Islamic will face Rays of Grace while Bright View SS who topped Group B will take on Paorihner in the semifinals that will be played on Tuesday.
The semifinal contests will be preceded by classification games of teams that finished third and fourth in the groups.
