Uganda Cranes will on Tuesday, 19th May 2026 discover its opponents for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers during the official draw in Cairo, Egypt.
The draw will be conducted at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football from 3pm local time (12pm GMT) and will be broadcast live on CAF TV.
The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 finals will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania from 19th June to 17th July 2027 in a historic edition that will mark the first time the competition is staged by three nations.

A total of 48 countries will take part in the qualification campaign and will be drawn into 12 groups. In the ordinary groups, the top two teams will qualify for the finals. However, in the groups involving co-hosts Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, only one additional nation will qualify since the three East African countries have already secured automatic places at the tournament.
Uganda will participate in the qualifiers as part of preparations for the continental showpiece.
The qualification process has already seen South Sudan, Burundi, Somalia, Lesotho, Eritrea and Ethiopia advance from the preliminary round to join the continent’s top-ranked sides in the group stage.
Matchdays one and two of the qualifiers will be played during the FIFA International Window from 21st September to 6th October 2026. Matchdays three and four are scheduled for 9th to 17th November 2026, while Matchdays five and six will take place from 22nd to 30th March 2027.
The draw ceremony will also feature renowned African football legends Max-Alain Gradel, William Troost-Ekong, Essam El Hadary and Trésor Mputu, who will assist during the event in Cairo.

The nations participating in the qualifiers are Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Comoros, Congo, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda Cranes, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
