The FUFA Drum: Lango, Acholi, Bunyoro and Buganda March to the Semi-Final

The second leg of the FUFA Drum quarter-finals has concluded today as four provinces secured their place in the semi-final following a series of closely contested encounters played across the country.

Bunyoro Province confirmed their place in the last four with a narrow 1-0 victory over West Nile Province in the second leg. The decisive strike came from Kabong Living, sealing a 1-0 aggregate win for Bunyoro across the two legs.

Acholi Province progressed after overcoming Busoga Province in a dramatic penalty shootout. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw in the second leg, with Isaac Wagoina scoring for Busoga and Emmanuel Ojok finding the net for Acholi. The aggregate score stood at 2-2, forcing penalties where Acholi triumphed 3-1 to advance. Goalkeeper Wokorach Jeans Braddy scored the winning penalty.

Buganda Province advanced on the away goals rule after a 1-1 draw against Tooro Province in the return leg. Tooro took the lead through Joseph Ssenyange, but Vianne Sekajugo responded for Buganda to level matters on the day. With the aggregate score tied at 1-1, Buganda progressed courtesy of their away goal advantage.

Defending cup winners Lango Province kept their title defence on course after edging Teso Province 1-0 in the second leg. Emmanuel Okech netted the all-important goal to hand Lango a 1-0 aggregate victory and secure their place in the semi-finals. Allan Okello supported from the stands.
