Uganda Cranes put up a resilient performance against Algeria on Monday at Mandela National Stadium but the visitors were able to snatch the win.
In a game that saw Mandela National Stadium filled to capacity, Algeria were able to win 2-1, coming from a goal down.

She was in the company of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Thomas Tayebwa, Minister of State for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang, FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim and the Katikkiro of Buganda Owek. Charles Peter Mayega.

Coach Paul Put made two changes from Uganda’s team that had started in the 1-0 win over Botswana last week.
Bobosi Byaruhanga and Rogers Mato started ahead of injured Elvis Bwomono and Allan Okello respectively.
A brilliant start for Uganda saw Travis Mutyaba open the scoring in the 10th minute with his strike from distance, ricocheting off the base of the upright before getting into the back of the net.

The visitors were however able to turn things around especially in the second half.
Just 45 seconds after restart, the Desert Foxes equalized through Houssem Aouar before Saidi Behrama struck the second in the 57th minute.
The result leaves Uganda on 6 points, three behind leaders Algeria. The FIF World Cup Qualifiers will resume in March next year with Uganda visiting Mozambique and hosting Guinea.
