2020 Total CHAN: Uganda Cranes team sets foot in Cameroon ahead of Mini Tournament

Uganda Cranes contingent for the Pre-CHAN Mini Tournament arrived safely in Yaoundé Cameroon after a 22 hour journey punctuated by a 16 hour stay in Ethiopia over-night on Monday and early part of Tuesday.

The team was warmly received at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport and attended to with VIP treatment before it was driven to Felecia Hotel – home of Cranes during the Mini tournament.

Head coach Johnathan McKinstry confirmed that the team will conduct their first training session at 4pm Local time (6pm-EAT) at the Omnisport Annex2 stadium in Yaoundé.  

McKinstry also conducted a meeting just after lunch with members of his technical team including new Goalkeeping coach Sadiq Wassa.

The National Teams’ Officer who is playing the role of Team Coordinator for Uganda Cranes in Cameroon, Paul Mukatabala is happy with the situation.

‘It is a nice place. We are the first time to arrive here and we look forward to great stay and football during the tournament’ said Mukatabala.
