CAF D Women Football Coaching Course

The first-ever CAF D Women Football Grassroot Course in Uganda has successfully opened at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Tuesday Morning.
The course is a CAF project aimed at producing Women Football coaches that will handle Girls during the CAF U15 School Girls (7 aside) football tournament comprising of eight (8) selected Schools. The tournament will be held from 20th February in each of the 16 nations with eight Teams (Schools) involved.
In Uganda, FUFA picked out Uganda Martyrs HS Lubaga, Kawempe Muslim SS, Rines SS, Town View SS Bugiri, Wakiso Hills, Taggy HS, Jinja SS, and Olila HS
Before the tournament CAF came up with the project to facilitate two (2) coaches from each school that will train and implement skills to the U15 girls from the selected schools. It is a pilot project for only 16 Nations in Africa. Ghana, Seychelles, Tanzania, Cameroon, Gambia, Malawi, Lesotho, Burundi, are some of the other nations taking part in the project.
‘We have officially opened a 5-day CAF D coaching course for women football. CAF came up with this project to produce coaches that will handle U15 girls during the CAF U15 School Girls Competition. Two participants were picked from each of the 8 selected schools. Their task is to coach U15 Girls that will take part in the competition that will run at the end of February’ said FUFA Football Development Director Ali Mwebe.
The opening ceremony was officially graced by the FUFA EXCO Member Issa Magoola who urged participants to be focused and become great future women football coaches.
‘This is just the beginning of your coaching career. You should be focused and committed to achieve the best and become great women coaching coaches in the future. CAF and FUFA are providing opportunities to Women football in such projects however you should embrace these opportunities for a better future in football’ added Magoola
CAF Women Football Instructor Magida Nantanda is in charge of providing skills and facilitating the participants taking part in the workshop.
