Uganda U17 National team (Cubs) played to a goalless draw with their Kenya counterparts (U18) in a trial match at Utali ground Nairobi Kenya.
This is the first match as per the program of the technical team arrangements during the camp in Kenya as the youngsters prepare for the CAF U17 AFCON finals in Dar es Salaam Tanzania 2019.

After the match, head coach Paa Samuel Kwesi Fabin noted that he was impressed with the performance of his side despite the goalless result.
‘I am happy with the results and the overall performance of the boys. It gives me a good analysis of the boys’ performance, helps in rating them and what to add while we prepare for the finals in Tanzania’ noted Paa Samuel Kwesi Fabin.

Kenya’s Coach noted that the match came at the right time before his team departs to North Africa.
‘We played very well and this match has given me a clear view of the whole camp we have had ahead of our trip to Egypt’ said Micheal Amenga

The Cubs (Uganda 17) will spend 9 days (from 1st-9th April) before heading to Tanzania on 10th April for the U17 AFCON finals meanwhile Kenya jets out to Alexandria, Egypt, on April 4, 2019, for the four nations tournament that has Egypt, Morocco and Algeria.
The final tournament (U17 AFCON) will kick off on 14th and end on 28th April 2019 in Tanzania. Uganda is in group A with the hosts, Nigeria and Angola
The top two teams in each of the two groups in the tournament will qualify automatically for the U17 FIFA World Cup that will be held in Brazil.
