The 2026 FUFA Super 8 got underway on Saturday at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo with KCCA FC registering a 2-1 victory over BUL FC before SC Villa and Maroons FC settled for a 1-1 draw in the day’s second fixture.
KCCA FC made a bright start in the opening match and took the lead in the 15th minute when Charles Lwanga tapped home to give the Lugogo based side the advantage. BUL FC responded just three minutes later after Reagan Kalyowa calmly converted from the penalty spot to level the contest.
The two sides continued to create opportunities, with BUL FC goalkeeper Jeans Braddy Wokorach producing a remarkable triple save in the 32nd minute to keep his side on level terms. The breakthrough eventually came in the 68th minute when Saidi Mayanja restored KCCA FC’s lead, a goal that proved decisive as the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions secured maximum points.
In the second match, SC Villa took the lead in the 12th minute through Aslam Semakula and maintained their advantage for much of the encounter.
Maroons FC continued to press for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 90th minute when Marvin Oshaba found the back of the net to earn his side a share of the spoils.
