Head Coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes has summoned the Uganda U-17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes provisional squad, to begin residential camp on Thursday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru ahead of the second round of the African Qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2026 against Kenya.
The squad is largely composed of players who featured in Uganda’s 6–1 aggregate victory over Zimbabwe in the first round of the qualifiers.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Ahmed Hussein, FUFA Corporate Affairs Director, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the team.
He said, ‘Our only hope for youth international women football this year lies in this team. The Federation like it has done with other teams will give them all the support. We believe in the team.’
Uganda will host Kenya in the first leg on 22 May 2026 at the FUFA Stadium, Kadiba before the return leg on 30 May 2026 at the Nyayo National Stadium.
