FTB FWSL Match Day 20 Review: Kawempe ends Queens unbeaten record to put title celebrations on hold.

Kawempe Muslim stunned Kampala Queens on Saturday to hand them their first loss of the season with a 2-1 loss at the MTN Omondi stadium putting on hold their title celebrations. Agnes Nabukenya’s scored in either half to give Kawempe Muslim a very precious win in what was more of a battle of egos and pride. Muduwa Peace scored for the hosts.

After an unsuccessful title defence this was a perfect consolation for the the Ayub Kiyingi coached side beating the champions in waiting and ending their unbeaten run at their own backyard. The result means that the Kawempe cut the point gap to only 6 with 2 games left.

At the Prisons grounds in Luzira Amus College WFC failed to find its way around a strong She Maroons side and ended up settling for a 1-all draw. They remain in 3rd place on 35 points, 6 behind second placed Kawempe Muslim. 

At the Makerere University play grounds, Lady Doves missed a chance to leap frog Amus College into the 3rd place when failed to beat the Makerere University Ladies team in a game that goalless.  

The relegation battle between Olila HS WFC and Tooro Queens FC will go into the final 2 match days of the FUFA Women Super season with the two clubs still fighting to beat the drop.

Uganda Martyrs Ladies 1-0 win against Olila HS WFC means they go level on 26 points with the Makerere University ladies FC but remain in 7th position courtesy of a smaller goal difference. On the other hand the loss means the Soroti side’s advantage over 11th placed Tooro Queens is cut by one point with just two games to go. Olila has 18 points against Tooro’s 16.  

In Jinja, Jessica Namanda and Kevin Nakacwa found the net to hand She Corporate victory against Rines SS WFC. The result means that She Corporate remains 5th on 27 points whereas Riness remains in 9th place 22 points.
