Kampala Queens FC and Uganda Martyrs WFC won their respective games over the weekend to cut the gap between them and table leaders She Corporate to three points.

With She Corporate out of action this weekend, both Kampala Queens and Uganda Martyrs seized the opportunity to close in and give their title ambitions a shot in the arm.

Kampala Queens edged bottom placed She Maroons, winning 1-0 at IUIU Ground, Kabojja on Saturday.

Winger Zaina Nandede scored the solitary goal to guide the Hamza Lutalo coached side to victory.

They currently sit third on the log with 19 points, same as Uganda Martyrs who are a place above because of a better goal difference.

Uganda Martyrs defeated Rines SS WFC 2-0 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso thanks to Elizabeth Nakigozi who bagged a brace.

UCU Lady Cardinals lost ground in the chase for the title after playing out a one all draw with Lady Doves at Katusabe Stadium in Masindi.

Spencer Nakacwa had given Lady Doves the lead in the 49th minute but UCU Lady Cardinals found the equalizer through an own goal by Olivia Babirye.

The University side are now 4th on the table with 18 points while Lady Doves remained in 7th position with 10 points

The League will take a two-week break to allow the Uganda Secondary School Games take place in Gulu City.
