Uganda Martyrs WFC were ruthless on Wednesday as they outwitted nemesis Kawempe Muslim Ladies in Lubaga.

In the game played at St. Gerald’s Stadium, Lubaga, Uganda Martyrs WFC secured a 3-1 win to edge closer to leaders She Corporate on the table.

Anita Namata netted a brace while substitute Latifa Nakasi added the other to guide the Kiddawalime Girls to victory.

The visitors got their consolation goal through Hadijah Nandago midway through the first half.

Uganda Martyrs who now have a game in hand, are second on the log with 16 points and five points behind leaders She Corporate FC.

Kawempe Muslim dropped further on the table, currently sixth with 11 points from nine games.

In the earlier game played on Tuesday, Olila High School WFC fought hard to earn a 2-1 against bottom placed Rines SS WFC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Leading top scorer Grace Aluka got her sixth goal of the campaign from a well curled free kick while the other goal for Olila was an own goal by Joan Ainembabazi.

The consolation goal for Rines SS WFC was scored by left footed winger Amina Nababi.

Action will resume over the weekend with four fixtures spread across the country. Kawempe Muslim will host She Corporate, Maroons will face Uganda Martyrs while Kampala Queens will be at home to home to Tooro Queens.
