The 2021/22 FUFA Women Elite League campaign got underway over the weekend with thrilling action witnessed across different grounds.
Three teams managed to register wins on the opening matchday with the other three fixtures ending in stalemates.
In Victoria Group, Isra Soccer Academy dispatched Ajax Queens FC at Kikaaya Playground, winning the game 3-1.
Striker Jovia Nakagolo netted a hat trick to guide Isra to victory. Ajax Queens got their consolation goal through Martha Nalunkuuma.
In the same group, Bunyaruguru Girls and King of Kings from Fort Portal played out a one all draw.
Harriet Nawera scored for Bunyaruguru Girls while King of Kings scored through Carol Kobugabe.
Luweero Giant Queens salvaged a point against Asubo Gafford Ladies thanks to an equalizer from Josephine Mukungu. Teddy Nyafwono had given Gafford Ladies the lead at the star of the second half.
In Elizabeth Group, Dynamic Jjeza and Wakiso Hills WFC earned slim wins over Acholi Queens and EHCOS respectively.
Wakiso Hills had to come from behind to win 2-1 against EHCOS. Faith Namuddu and Jaridah Nanyonjo scored for Wakiso Hills to cancel out Agnes Atim’s opener.
Dynamic Jjeza fought hard to see off Acholi Queens in a five goal thriller, winning 3-2 at home.
Brenda Nandagire, Sandra Nakalya and Viola Tebitondwa scored a goal each for Jjeza while Acholi Queens had Rachael Acio and Sharipher Atimango scoring.
Kataka SHE FC and Makerere University WFC played out a one all draw.
