SC Villa, Maroons heading for relegation!

FIFA officials have on many occasions been to Uganda to sort out indifferences but SC Villa and Maroons FC have attached no respect to their efforts! The two teams are now headed for a relegation from the FUFA Super League.

When it clocks 5:00pm this Thursday before SC Villa and Maroons Football Club submit their compliance forms to the FUFA Competitions committee, they will have automatically kicked themselves out of the FUFA Super League that flags off on September 25.

The official deadline elapsed on Monday September 10 but an extension of the grace period was granted for Express, Masaka, Maroons and Sc Villa to which the first two complied. SC Villa and Maroons have however remained defiant towards the federation position on the implementation of the new statutes and are reportedly opting for a parallel League.

All efforts by visiting FIFA/CAF and FUFA officials in this direction have since hit a dead end and we shall be left with no option other than seeing them off the national scene by the end of today. The FUFA Executive Committee that sits on Friday September 14 will among other issues on the agenda discuss the same matter and have it officially recorded for future references.

The Federation however wishes to commend and congratulate the 14 Super Division Clubs that have already complied for their positive understanding of the association football rules. These include BUL FC, Express SC, Proline FC, Vipers, Entebbe Young, Water FC, KCC, Victoria University, Victors, Police, URA, Kira Young, Simba and Masaka LC.

Arrangements are already underway to promote Aurum Roses and CRO from the FUFA Big League to replace the vacuum created by the defiant clubs.
