AFCON 2017 Qualifiers: Seven professional players boost Uganda Cranes training

AFCON 2017 QUALIFIERS (Group D)

March 26th March 2016: Uganda Vs Burkina Faso – Ouagadougou

March 29th March 2016: Burkina Faso Vs Uganda – Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole

Match Tickets : 20, 000/= (Ordinary), 50,000/= (VIP) & 120,000/= (VVIP)

The Uganda National team, Uganda Cranes continued with its preparations ahead of the do or die encounters against Burkina Faso on 26th in Ouagadougou and 29th March at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

A total of 12 players reported for training including 7 foreign based players.

The team had a training session with the national 20 side, the Hippos.

After the training, the team Captain Geoffrey Massa expressed his excitement of being part of the team and showed his readiness to lead the team to the desired dream .

‘ Am very happy to join the team for training. All the boys who have trained today are in good shape and I promise Ugandans that this time we are breaking the 38 year old jinx ‘ Vowed Massa.

Massa called upon all Ugandans to rally behind the team because their support is so vital to the team’s morale.

Players who trained included; James Alitho (GK), Joseph Nsubuga, Bernard Muwanga, Erisa Sekisambu, Edrisa Lubega, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Godfrey Walusimbi ,Khalid Aucho, Tonny Mawejje, Moses Oloya, Yassar Mugerwa  and Geoffrey Massa .

Training resumes on Sunday at Nakivubo Stadium, 4 pm after Prayers for the Cranes at Namirembe Cathedaral ,Rubaga Catholic Church and Victory Church, Ndeeba .
