Uganda National U-17 football team (The Cubs) squad has been narrowed to a maximum of 35 players as the team progresses with its preparations for the forthcoming AFCON CECAFA Zonal U17 Qualifiers in Rwanda.
Under the stewardship of Head coach Hamza Lutalo, the players have now spent a week in residential training at both IUIU campus Kabojja, and FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

The team will continue with camp at FUFA Technical Center for another fortnight before travelling to Rwanda where the Qualifiers tournament will be held from.
The squad will be further reduced to 20 players before the final submission to CECAFA is made.
‘We took a decision to reduce the number this early because we are against time. Mostly we took preference for defensive and offensive. Those not selected will be followed at their respective clubs during the Juniors league. Now we need to focus on those staying in camp so that we work on our targets before the opening match.’ noted Cubs coach Hamza Lutalo.
