The tournament will attract 7 countries divided I to two groups A and B*_
Group A: Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan
Opening match: Uganda U17 vs South Sudan (Midday in Rwanda, 1pm in Uganda)
Group B: Rwanda, Tanzania, Djibouti.
The Uganda National U17 football team conducted their first training on Thursday at Kicukiro playground in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Cubs arrived in Rwanda on Monday night but had to undergo the mandatory 24hour isolation before they could embark on the team’s other activities as set by the tournament organisers.

The one and half hour training session that started at 9 am Local time in Rwanda saw coach Hamuza Lutalo take his players through light regeneration due to the three days they had taken without any drills.

‘We have managed to conduct our first training. We are focused and looking forward to the tournament. We shall adjust according to the regulations of the tournament organisers. The next final training session will give us a picture of what kind of team to name on Saturday when we play our first match against South Sudan’
The team will conduct their final training session on Friday in Kigali at Mumena playground at 10:00am before traveling to Rubavu at 2pm.
The organisers named Rubavu as the new host town of the tournament. The matches will be played at Umuganda Stadium.
The two finalists will play in the U17 Total African Cup of Nations-Morocco in 2021.
