Defending champions Vipers SC delivered a statement performance with a commanding 6-0 victory over Pajule Lions FC in the Round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at Kitende.
Coming into the fixture billed as a classic David-versus-Goliath encounter, Vipers SC lived up to their billing with a dominant display that reflected both their Uganda Premier League form and pedigree in knockout football.
The Venoms asserted control early and never looked back. AbdulKarim Watambala opened the scoring in the 6th minute before doubling his tally in the 33rd minute to give the hosts a comfortable cushion. Arafat Usama added a third in the 21st minute, capping off a fluent attacking move as Vipers took full command of proceedings.

After the break, Milton Karisa extended the advantage with a quickfire brace in the 45th and 52nd minutes, effectively putting the contest beyond reach. Mulongo then sealed the emphatic win with a late goal in the 87th minute to complete a ruthless attacking display.
Despite the heavy scoreline, Pajule Lions FC showed moments of resilience, staying true to the ambition and fighting spirit that had carried them to this stage of the competition. However, the gulf in experience and quality ultimately proved decisive.

The result reinforces Vipers SC’s status as strong contenders to retain the trophy as they march into the Round of 16 with confidence and momentum.
In the earlier fixture, Kitara FC registered a 2-0 victory over Entebbe UPPC FC to also secure progression to the next round. George Senkaaba and Emmanuel Wasswa scored for the home side.
