Odilo Championship 6th edition to run from March to August 2026

The Odilo Championship will return for its 6th edition in 2026, with competitions scheduled to run from March to August at district, regional and national levels across the country.

The championship continues to provide an important platform for football development among primary school pupils aged between 11 and 13 years. Both boys and girls will participate in the competition.

The announcement follows the successful completion of the 5th edition of the championship. Kampala Grammar Junior School won the boys’ category while Oasis Primary School emerged champions in the girls’ category.

The 6th edition will follow a structured competition pathway beginning at district level before progressing to regional and national stages.

Each district will constitute a five-member organising committee to oversee the district competitions. The committee will include two representatives from the District Schools Association, the chairperson from the District Football Association Executive and the DFA Secretary.

At regional level, the organising committee will include the chairperson of the Regional Executive Committee, the Regional Secretary and two representatives from the Regional Schools Association. At least two members of the committee must be female.

Participation in the championship will be confirmed through registration accompanied by a commitment fee of UGX 50,000 payable to the district organising committee under the leadership of the FUFA District Football Association. The logistics support will be distributed as follows: UGX 35,000 will remain at the district level, UGX 10,000 will support the regional level while UGX 5,000 will go to the FUFA Competitions Directorate.

The competition calendar will begin with the registration of teams at the district level from 5th to 30th March. District competitions will take place in April while zonal competitions will follow in May.

Regional competitions will be played in June before the championship concludes with the national stage between 20th July and 15th August.

District winners will advance to the regional competitions to determine the teams that will represent their regions at the national finals for both the boys’ and girls’ categories.

The national championship will be held at the FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.
