Stanbic Uganda Cup 2021-2022 (Round of 16):

1999 Stanbic Uganda Cup winners Mbale Heroes overcame Police 1-0 during the 2021-2022 round of 16 stage at Lugogo on Sunday, 20th March 2022.
Bosco Kanyike scored the winner in the 89th minute to send Mbale Heroes to the quarter finals of this knock-out tournament.
At the Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara city, the home side Mbarara City humbled Iganga Young 4-0 in one sided duel.
Henry Kitegenyi, Seiri Agumaho, Solomon Okwalinga (penalty) and Ronald Otti scored the goals for Mbarara City, a club managed by Sadiq Sempigi.
‘We needed such a performance and result as we progressed to the quarter finals. I thank the players for the character. It is a good boost coming to our next matches in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.’ Sempigi noted after the game.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 returns on Monday, 21st March 2022 as Wakiso Giants host UPDF at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso.
