Kunihira, Nakaziro named in Starting XI to face Burkina Faso

Crested Cranes head coach George Lutalo has rang changes in the team that will face Burkina Faso on Friday at the ongoing TotalEnergies Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The gaffer has made three changes from the team that started against Morocco on Tuesday.

Winger Margret Kunihira and goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro have made their first appearance at the tournament.

Kunihira starts on the right wing joining Fazila Ikwaput and Fauzia Najjemba up front in three-player attack.

Margret Kunihira celebrates a goal at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Therefore this means Ikwaput who played on the left wing against Morocco will shift to the centre with Najjemba drifting to the left.

Nakaziro starts in goal ahead of skipper Ruth Aturo who is sick and ruled out of the game . The other changes see Aisha Nantongo return to the starting XI to partner Margaret Namirimu at the heart of defence.

Versatile player Phiona Nabbumba who played as a makeshift centre back against Morocco will this time move to the right back position with Asia Nakibuuka moving to the left to replace Sumaya Komuntale who is suspended.

With Yudaya Nakayenze and Hasifah Nassuna still sidelined due to illness, the midfield is maintained with Joan Nabirye, Shamirah Nalugya and Sandra Nabweteme.
